Fernando Tatis Jr. Has Fractured Wrist
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) has a fractured wrist and surgery is probable. He could miss a few months of action, but he's been a quick healer in the past. It's the first big injury of the spring and will seriously impact the Padres early season approach in the middle infield. The 23-year-old superstar was the consensus No. 1 overall fantasy pick heading into the 2022 season, even considering his troublesome shoulder issues. The first-time All-Star hit .282/.364/.611 with a league-high 42 home runs, 97 RBI and 25 stolen bases in just 130 games (546 plate appearances) in his third major league season. This latest injury news obviously puts a big dent in his fantasy appeal. In his absence, the Padres have options. They could move third baseman Manny Machado to the 6 or use Ha-Seong Kim as the starter.
