3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso said he got into a "brutal" car accident on Sunday in which his car flipped over three times. He said he feels fortunate to be alive, but all is well now and he will be back on the field on Tuesday. The 27-year-old is entrenched as the team's everyday first baseman, but he could also see more time at designated hitter in 2022. He finished the 2021 season with a .262/.344/.519 slash line with 37 home runs, 94 RBI and 81 runs scored while adding three steals in 637 plate appearances over 152 games in his third major league season. With 106 big flies in three seasons, it's clear that Alonso has elite power at his position. He comes in ranked as RotoBaller's No. 4 fantasy first baseman, behind only Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
