Browns Release Jarvis Landry
3 years agoThe Cleveland Browns released wide receiver Jarvis Landry on Monday. Cleveland gave Landry permission to seek a trade after the acquired Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend, but now Landry will be free to sign with any team. The 29-year-old pass-catcher was scheduled for a non-guaranteed $14.3 million base salary in 2022 in the final year of his five-year, $75.5 million deal. Landry made the Pro Bowl in five straight seasons from 2015-19, but he had his worst season in 2021 with 52 catches for 570 yards and two touchdowns on 87 targets in 12 games. He dealt with injuries and poor quarterback play from Baker Mayfield, so he could bounce back with better health and in the right situation.
