Steelers Reach Agreement With Mitchell Trubisky
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers reached an agreement on a two-year deal with free-agent quarterback Mitchell Trubisky on Monday, according to sources. The former No. 2 overall pick will head to the Steelers and is expected to replace the retired Ben Roethlisberger as the starter in 2022. Trubisky served as Josh Allen's backup with the Buffalo Bills in 2021, but he'll return to a starting role this year. The Steelers also have Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins at the position, but they figure to battle for backup duties. Trubisky was a Pro Bowler for the Chicago Bears in 2018, but he mostly underwhelmed as a starter in his first four NFL seasons. Trubisky has some mobility, but he won't be anything more than a midrange QB2 in fantasy if he indeed is given the starting job in Pittsburgh.
