Fernando Tatis Jr. Out Up To Three Months
3 years agoUpdating a previous report, San Diego Padres general manager A.J. Preller said that shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) will need "up to three months of recovery time" after suffering a fractured left wrist. Tatis said he felt his wrist flare up around a month ago and initially thought it was something he could work through. He still hasn't made a decision on surgery, but it appears to be likely at this point. Third baseman Manny Machado could be an option at the 6, but it's more likely that Ha-Seong Kim takes over as the starting shortstop to begin the 2022 season with Tatis sidelined. The injury puts a huge dent in Tatis' fantasy value after he led the National League with 42 home runs while adding 25 stolen bases in his third MLB season.
