3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German (shoulder) is likely to begin the 2022 season on the injured list. German had shoulder issues pop up in late January and will likely need more time to get ready. The 29-year-old right-hander will have even less time this spring to get ready for Opening Day, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to be of much use early in the season. On the bright side, the Yankees expect Jameson Taillon (ankle) to be ready after having ankle surgery last October. German was suspended for all of 2020 and returned last year to post a 4.58 ERA and 1.18 WHIP while striking out 98 and walking 27 in 98 1/3 innings over 22 appearances (18 starts). Michael King stands to benefit the most in the Yankees rotation if German isn't ready to go in April.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
