Cardinals Restructure DeAndre Hopkins' Contract
3 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals converted wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins' $10.65 million roster bonus into a signing bonus on Tuesday to create $7.1 million in salary cap space for the 2022 season, according to a source. Hopkins is under contract through the 2024 season. Because of injury, Hopkins had the worst season of his career in his second year with the Cardinals in 2021, catching 42 passes (64 targets) for a career-low 572 yards and eight touchdowns in only 10 games. With better health, the team's No. 1 receiver should bounce back in a big way for fantasy managers. The five-time Pro Bowler has had 1,000-plus receiving yards in six of his nine NFL seasons, including his first year in Arizona when he had 1,407 yards and six TDs on a career-high-tying 115 catches.
