Max Muncy Playing First Base Tuesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy (elbow) is playing first base in the team's simulated game on Tuesday. Muncy suffered UCL damage in his left elbow in the final regular season game last year and wasn't able to play in the postseason. The 31-year-old avoided surgery, though, and is expected to be ready for Opening Day, barring any setbacks this spring. Muncy could be a regular in the designated hitter spot to open the season, especially if the Dodgers sign Freddie Freeman in free agency. As long as he's in the powerful Dodgers lineup, the left-handed hitter will be very attractive in fantasy despite his elbow injury from a season ago. Before his injury, Muncy hit .249/.368/.527 with a career-high 36 home runs and 94 RBI in 592 plate appearances. He has 35-plus homers in three of the last four seasons.
