Chiefs Bring Back Chad Henne
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing quarterback Chad Henne to a one-year, $2 million deal on Wednesday, according to a source. It will be Henne's fifth season serving as Patrick Mahomes' backup in Kansas City. The 36-year-old has made just one start for the Chiefs and has seen action in parts of eight games in the last four seasons. The veteran signal-caller hasn't had multiple starts in a season since back in 2014 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, when he made three starts. In his time with the Chiefs, Henne has gone 41-for-57 for 359 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The experience is nice (12 NFL seasons for three different teams), but the Chiefs offense would be in trouble if Henne is forced into action for any stretch of time.
