Reds Acquire Pitcher Mike Minor From Royals
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds acquired left-hander Mike Minor and cash from the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday in exchange for left-hander Amir Garrett. Minor finished last year on the injured list with a left shoulder impingement, but he was able to make 28 starts over 158 2/3 innings for the Royals while going 8-12 with a 5.05 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 149 K's to 41 walks. If the 34-year-old is fully healthy this spring, he will be a member of the Reds starting rotation after they traded Sonny Gray to the Minnesota Twins a week ago. Minor was an All-Star in 2019 with the Texas Rangers, but he doesn't possess a ton of fantasy upside with a 4.11 career ERA and only 8.2 strikeouts per nine innings in 10 big-league seasons for the Royals, Rangers, Atlanta Braves and Oakland Athletics.
