3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves re-signed right-hander Mike Soroka to a one-year, $2.8 million deal on Friday to avoid salary arbitration. The 24-year-old missed all of the 2021 season due to an Achilles injury, and he won't be ready to rejoin the Braves starting rotation until the second half in 2022. The good news is that Soroka has been cleared to resume running and throwing, but he has yet to get back on a mound. He was an All-Star with Atlanta in 2019, when he went 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 142 strikeouts and 41 walks in 174 2/3 innings over 29 starts. Soroka made only three starts in 2020 before his injury, but he could be a useful arm in fantasy in the second half if he returns to full health.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
