Astros, Rangers, Yankees In The Mix For Trevor Story
3 years agoFree-agent shortstop Trevor Story has multiple new suitors as the last great free-agent shortstop remaining after the Minnesota Twins signed Carlos Correa on Saturday morning. The Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees have joined the mix alongside the Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants. Story would prefer to play shortstop, though, and is believed to be open to considering a short-term deal with opt-outs, which could definitely fit the Yankees. The Yankees and Astros likely have an edge because they would be using him at the 6. The Yankees weren't really in on Correa, but they like Story. The 29-year-old power/speed threat at shortstop is going to lose some fantasy luster leaving Coors Field, but New York or Houston wouldn't be terrible landing spots for Story.
