Zack Wheeler To Throw Bullpen Sunday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session on Sunday, and manager Joe Girardi won't rule him out yet from starting the regular season on time, especially if MLB allows expanded rosters to open the season. Girardi mentioned the possibility of piggy-backing Wheeler with another pitcher early in April. Wheeler recently had the flu and also dealt with shoulder soreness this offseason, so he is a bit behind. But the 31-year-old's injury doesn't seem very serious, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned just yet. Wheeler has posted an ERA below 3.00 in each of his first seasons with the Phillies and was a first-time All-Star in 2021. Consider him a low-end fantasy ace.
