Falcons Bring Back Cordarrelle Patterson
3 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons agreed to re-sign wide receiver/running back Cordarrelle Patterson on an undisclosed deal on Saturday, according to a source. The Falcons keep a key offensive piece who is coming off career-highs in touches (205), yards from scrimmage (1,166) and touchdowns (11) in 2021. Most people thought Patterson would become too expensive for the Falcons to retain after his best season in the NFL, but he'll be back for at least one more season. The 31-year-old should see the majority of backfield touches in 2022 alongside Mike Davis, barring an addition at the position through the draft. Patterson carried the ball 153 times for 618 yards and six touchdowns, adding 52 receptions for 548 yards and five more scores. TD regression is likely coming, but Patterson should be a valuable RB in PPR leagues yet again.
