Shohei Ohtani To Make Spring Debut Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani is scheduled to make his first spring start on Monday. The Japanese sensation completed his first live batting practice session of the spring on Wednesday. The 27-year-old won the American League MVP last year and went 9-2 on the mound with a 3.18 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 156 strikeouts and 44 walks in 130 1/3 innings over 23 starts. The Angels will be using a six-man starting rotation again, so Ohtani will get an extra day of rest in between starts. Ohtani was also named the AL Rookie of the Year in 2018 and should be among the top targets as both a hitter and pitcher in fantasy drafts after his historic season in 2021.
