Phillies Bring Back Ronald Torreyes
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies re-signed infielder Ronald Torreyes to a minor league deal with an invitation to major league camp on Sunday. Torreyes will return for his third straight season with the Phillies. In 344 plate appearances over 111 games last year, Torreyes hit .242/.286/.346 with a career-high seven home runs, 41 RBI and 30 runs scored for Philadelphia. The 29-year-old will continue to provide the Phillies with veteran infield depth, but he carries virtually no fantasy value because of his lack of regular playing time and power. In seven major league seasons, Torreyes has a slash line of .265/.299/.361 with only 11 home runs, 98 RBI, seven steals and 99 runs scored in 351 games.
