Vikings To Hang Onto Danielle Hunter
3 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings plan to keep defensive end Danielle Hunter after his $18 million roster bonus became guaranteed on Sunday. It doesn't preclude the team from redoing the Pro Bowler's contract. The Vikings can still clear salary cap space by converting any portion of the roster bonus into a signing bonus. Hunter is the NFL's youngest player to reach 50 career sacks, and he's the Vikings only proven pass-rusher heading into 2022. The problem is that he hasn't been able to stay healthy of late, as he's played in only seven games in the last two years due to a cervical disc herniation in 2020 and a torn pectoral muscle this past season. Hunter had six sacks in seven starts last year and could be a nice value pick in IDP leagues if he can stay on the field.
