Max Muncy Making Spring Debut Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy (elbow) is playing in his first game in spring training on Monday since tearing his UCL in the final game of last regular season. Muncy is starting at third base and hitting second against the Chicago White Sox in Cactus League action. The 31-year-old missed the playoffs last October, but barring any setbacks, he's expected to be ready for Opening Day. With Freddie Freeman now in town, Muncy figures to be LA's regular designated hitter, but he could also play second and third base on occasion. If he proves to be fully healthy, Muncy should be a strong contributor for fantasy managers in a stacked Dodgers lineup after he hit 36 home runs and drove in 94 with a slash line of .249/.368/.895 in 2021.
