Zac Gallen Dealing With Bursitis
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen (shoulder) had some stiffness in his shoulder in December, and an MRI exam showed bursitis. He threw his second bullpen session of camp on March 18 and said he had no issues with his right shoulder. The next step is for Gallen to face live hitters in a batting practice session, but he's currently behind the other pitchers in camp, and there's some question if he'll be ready for Opening Day. If he's not ready, he should be ready shortly after the season starts. The 26-year-old shouldn't lose any fantasy value because of the issue, at least not yet. Gallen went 4-10 in 2021 with a 4.30 ERA and 1.29 WHIP while fanning 139 hitters and walking 49 in 23 starts covering 121 1/3 innings.
