Teoscar Hernandez Has Mild Wrist Sprain
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (wrist) has a mild sprain in his left wrist but was able to put in a full day of work on Tuesday. Hernandez should be back on the field soon in spring games, according to manager Charlie Montoyo. It sounds like there's no danger of him missing Opening Day, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned right now. The 29-year-old suffered the injury while making a diving catch in a game recently. Hernandez made nice improvements to his contact rate last year and rewarded his fantasy managers with a .296/.346/.524 slash line with an .870 OPS and career-highs in home runs (32) and RBI (116) in 595 plate appearances over 143 games as a first-time All-Star. He has the potential to be a five-category contributor in a stacked Jays lineup.
