3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers don't intend to pursue a trade for Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield at this time, according to sources. Mayfield will be dealt eventually after the Browns surprisingly acquired Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans. Cleveland also signed Jacoby Brissett to be Watson's backup in 2022. Mayfield played most of last year with a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder and wasn't very productive on the field. The 26-year-old listed the Indianapolis Colts as his preferred trade destination, but the Colts just acquired Matt Ryan from the Atlanta Falcons. It's anyone's guess as to where Mayfield will end up in 2022, and he may not even be guaranteed a starting gig under center.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
