Luis Patino To Throw Live BP Saturday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Luis Patino (shoulder) felt good after testing his sore right shoulder in an 18-20-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday. He will move to a live batting practice session on Saturday. The 22-year-old was scratched from his scheduled spring outing on Tuesday with the shoulder soreness, but it sounds as if Patino's injury isn't very concerning. As long as he doesn't have any further setbacks, he could still be ready in time for Opening Day. Patino will be looking to build on his first season in Tampa in 2021 when he posted a 4.31 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with a 22.2% strikeout rate and 8.7% walk rate in 19 outings (15 starts).
