Panthers Bring Back Rashaan Melvin
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers re-signed cornerback Rashaan Melvin to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday. In his first year with the Panthers in 2021, Melvin played in just 10 games (two starts) and recorded 16 tackles (12 solo). The 32-year-old didn't play at all in 2020 after opting out due to COVID-19, and he's expected to once again provide valuable depth to Carolina's secondary in 2022. Melvin has played for six different NFL teams in his seven seasons and has a total of 260 tackles (223 solo), five tackles for loss, four interceptions, 41 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 74 games (42 starts). He won't be on the IDP radar.
