3 years agoBaltimore Orioles general manager Mike Elias said he's not ready to rule out catcher Adley Rutschman (triceps) for Triple-A's Opening Day on April 5, as he's mostly dealing with general soreness in the back of his arm. Rutschman continues to make progress from a right triceps injury, and Elias said "it's more a matter of weeks than day" for his return to game action. Unfortunately, the No. 2 overall prospect in baseball won't begin the 2022 season in the big leagues, but he might not be far from his major league debut after showing he didn't have much left to prove on the farm in 2021. The 24-year-old switch-hitting backstop slashed .285/.397/.502 with 23 home runs, 75 RBI and 86 runs scored in 123 games with Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
