3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (oblique) is playing right field in a minor league game on Wednesday. Marte resumed hitting off a tee earlier this week and still has a chance to be ready for Opening Day, as long as he doesn't have any setbacks with his sore left oblique. The 33-year-old signed a four-year, $78 million deal last fall after hitting a combined .310/.383/.458 with 12 home runs, 55 RBI, 89 runs scored and a major league-leading 47 stolen bases in 526 plate appearances over 120 games with the Miami Marlins and Oakland Athletics.
