Zack Wheeler Impresses In Bullpen Session
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler (shoulder) was impressive during a 42-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday. The right-hander entered camp a bit behind schedule after throwing a major league-leading 213 1/3 innings last year and experiencing right shoulder soreness when he resumed throwing in December. Wheeler also missed a few days last week because of the flu, but he thinks he can be ready to pitch in the first week of the season. He's next scheduled to throw a live batting practice session and then could pitch in a Grapefruit League game. As long as Wheeler doesn't suffer any setbacks from here on out, fantasy managers should have him available in Week 1 of the season.
