Tommy Pham Agrees With Reds On One-Year Deal
3 years agoFree-agent outfielder Tommy Pham agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, according to multiple sources familiar with the negotiations. The deal includes a mutual option for the 2023 season and is pending a physical. The 34-year-old hit .229 last year with 24 doubles, 15 home runs, 49 RBI, 74 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in his second year with the San Diego Padres. The right-handed hitter will add speed and power to the top of the Reds lineup, slotting into an outfield that consists of Nick Senzel, Tyler Naquin and Jake Fraley. Pham has hit well against lefties in his career and also has a career .366/.449/.505 slash line in 101 at-bats at Great American Ballpark.
