Mackenzie Gore Looks Good Wednesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres left-hander MacKenzie Gore has been adamant that he's made significant strides this year and is ready to put his struggles the last two seasons behind him, and he had another strong spring showing on Wednesday in three scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Angels. The 23-year-old southpaw struck out five, allowed one hit and didn't surrender a walk after going two perfect frames in his spring debut last Friday. He has reportedly been touching the upper-90s with his fastball and is looking more like the top prospect the Padres thought they had when they initially drafted him. Gore is likely to open the season in the minors regardless of how well he pitches this spring, but he's an exciting young pitcher that could immediately become fantasy relevant if he joins San Diego's rotation at any point in 2022.
