3 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu remains on track to make his spring training debut on Friday against the Detroit Tigers. The 34-year-old left-hander was a late arrival to camp after working out in South Korea, and he also dealt with COVID-19 over the winter, but he was asymptomatic and should be ready to go for Opening Day. Ryu disappointed his fantasy managers in 2021 with a 4.37 ERA and 1.22 WHIP while posting a 20.4% strikeout rate and a 5.3% walk rate in 31 starts over 169 innings. The southpaw got fewer swings and misses on his changeup and cutter and has thrown 180 innings in his major league career just twice in eight seasons, so Ryu could once again disappoint in relation to his ADP.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
