Ranger Suarez To Throw Live BP Sunday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez will throw a live batting practice session on Sunday. Manager Joe Girardi thinks Suarez can theoretically still be ready for the first week of the regular season, but it's still too early to tell. The 26-year-old left-hander arrived late to camp due to visa issues, but he should be ready for Opening Day, albeit on a limited pitch count most likely. Suarez's fantasy stock continues to climb after posting a pristine 1.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, a career-high 25.6% strikeout rate and a 7.9% walk rate in 39 outings (12 starts) covering 106 innings pitched. He also had four saves and one shutout mixed in.
