3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers signed free-agent defensive end Kerry Hyder to a one-year, $1.5 million deal on Thursday, according to a source. Hyder had a career-high 8.5 sacks with the 49ers in 2020 and 1.5 sacks with the Seattle Seahawks last year. The 30-year-old pass-rusher also had 33 tackles (20 solo), three tackles for loss, 11 QB hits and two fumble recoveries in 15 games (seven starts) for Seattle in 2021. He will join a very talented group of Niners pass-rushers and will play in a rotational role, making him unattractive in IDP leagues. Hyder played the first three years of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions and has 20 career sacks in 71 games (23 starts).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
