Chiefs Sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs signed former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a three-year, $30 million deal on Thursday, according to his agents. He'll receive $18 million in the first two years, and incentives could push the deal to a maximum of $36 million. The Chiefs moved quickly to bring another receiver in after trading away All-Pro pass-catcher Tyreek Hill on Thursday. Valdes-Scantling, 27, is my no means another Hill, but he'll give Kansas City another deep threat alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster. MVS caught 26 of his 55 targets for 430 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games in 2021. He has a career mark of 17.5 yards per catch in four NFL seasons, but he was too often overshadowed by Davante Adams in Green Bay. The move to KC should make him a more consistent fantasy asset, but the Chiefs still have plenty of weapons.
