3 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold is the team's leading candidate to start under center in 2022. "The whole key is bringing Sam [Darnold] along," general manager Scott Fitterer said. "He's in the lead for that job." After the season, Fitterer said the QB job was "open," and the Panthers have certainly tried to upgrade at the position so far this offseason, to no avail. P.J. Walker is the other QB on Carolina's roster as of right now, so it's no surprise that Darnold is the leading candidate to start. The 24-year-old played in 12 games (11 starts) in 2021 and was pretty bad, throwing for 2,527 yards, nine touchdowns and 13 interceptions for a passer rating of 71.9. The Panthers could be in serious trouble with Darnold at the helm again in 2022, and fantasy managers will be looking elsewhere for a backup signal-caller.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
