Chiefs To Sign Ronald Jones II
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs plan to sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II to an undisclosed one-year deal, according to a source. Jones had two seasons with 1,000 yards from scrimmage in Tampa and should have plenty of opportunities in Kansas City behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who has been somewhat of a disappointment since being a first-round pick in 2020. Jones played second fiddle to workhorse Leonard Fournette last year and finished with 428 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. The 24-year-old's fantasy value in 2022 will ultimately come down to whether the Chiefs re-sign Darrel Williams and/or Jerick McKinnon. If neither are brought back, Jones will be a popular handcuff for those that roster CEH, and he could even have standalone value as an RB3/flex.
