Erik Jones Shows DFS Intrigue On Sunday At Austin
3 years agoErik Jones got off on the wrong foot at Austin during Saturday's practice and qualifying. He wound up 30th for Sunday's race. The Petty GMS Motorsports driver has a pretty fast Chevy on longer runs. Now, can the No. 43 car take advantage of that on Sunday. Increased cautions have been a theme with the Next-Gen car this season. One concern for Jones maybe all those curves, not for cautions, but for penalties. NASCAR has ruled that a car must keep at least two tires on the track at all times and will be strictly enforcing the rules around the S's. Jones was eyed on Saturday heavily. If he can stay on track, a double-digit place differential is possible (+13 last year).
