3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene is starting another Cactus League game on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox. With Mike Minor unlikely to be ready for the start of the season, Greene, the No. 22 overall prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, has a legitimate shot at starting the season in Cincy's starting rotation. The 22-year-old struck out two of the four hitters he faced in his spring training debut last Monday against the Chicago Cubs, and he hit 100 mph on the radar gun on seven of his 17 pitches. Greene will need to commit to his offspeed pitches at the major league level in order to have consistent success, but his strikeout upside is very real. He may need a bit more minor league seasoning, but by season's end, he could be a regular in the Reds rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
