Giants Not Actively Shopping Saquon Barkley
3 years agoNew York Giants chief executive officer John Mara said that the team isn't actively shopping running back Saquon Barkley in trades. Barkley was more of a long shot to be traded all along, but they could clear $7 million in salary cap space for 2022 by sending him elsewhere. The 25-year-old former second overall pick in 2018 had an outstanding rookie season with 1,307 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns and he also had a 1,000-yard season in his sophomore campaign, but he has played in just 15 games in the last two seasons due to injuries. The Giants offense has also held him hostage most of the time in terms of a true fantasy ceiling, so Barkley's stock is certainly on the decline heading into the 2022 season.
