Nyheim Hines Expected To Have Much Bigger Role
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich expects running back Nyheim Hines to have a much bigger role in the offense this season with quarterback Matt Ryan now in town. Reich said Hines' usage will be more similar to what it was in 2020 when Philip Rivers was under center. That year, Hines had a career-high 89 carries for 380 yards and three touchdowns while also catching a career-high-tying 63 passes for 482 yards and four touchdowns on 76 targets. Ryan, like Rivers, has been a good match for running backs that can catch passes like Hines. While the 25-year-old's fantasy ceiling will ultimately be capped by Jonathan Taylor, one of the best young backs in football, it's looking like Hines will be a popular value pick in PPR drafts in 2022.
