Albert Okwuegbunam To Serve In Hybrid Role
3 years agoDenver Broncos tight end Albert Okwuegbunam will be more of a "move tight end" and a hybrid receiver/tight end this year, according to head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett said he's "excited to get the ball in his hands." The 23-year-old had a career-high 33 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns on 40 targets in 14 games (six starts), but he immediately became attractive in fantasy for the 2022 season when the Broncos acquired quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seahawks and sent starting tight end Noah Fant to Seattle in the return package. Denver could bring in some tight end competition in the draft, but Okwuegbunam should see a bigger role regardless. The former fourth-rounder in 2020 will have TE1 sleeper appeal heading into fall drafts.
