3 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays sent catching prospect Gabriel Moreno to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. Moreno is the team's top prospect and is also ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline. Toronto will begin the 2022 season with Danny Jansen and Alejandro Kirk working behind the dish, giving the 22-year-old Moreno more time to develop on the farm. In three minor league levels last year, he hit an impressive .367/.434/.626 with eight home runs, 45 RBI and 30 runs score in 159 plate appearances over 37 games. Moreno has a quick and powerful swing and makes plenty of contact, as he struck out in just 14.8% of his plate appearances last year.
