3 years agoNew York Jets kicker Matt Ammendola was released on Tuesday, the team announced. The 25-year-old appeared in 11 games last season, connecting on 14 of 15 extra points. However, he went just 13-for-19 on field-goal tries. Much like he was replaced by Eddy Pineiro midseason, Tuesday's release follows the Jets decision to sign both Pineiro and veteran Greg Zuerlein. With Pineiro and Zuerlein set to compete in training camp, Ammendola was the odd man out.
