Mike Yastrzemski Could Return This Weekend
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (quadriceps) could return to Cactus League action over the weekend. Yastrzemski should be considered day-to-day after leaving the game on Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals with right quad tightness. As long as the 31-year-old can return to the lineup this weekend and avoid setbacks, he should be good to go for Opening Day next week. The Giants can't afford any more injuries to their starters, as third baseman Evan Longoria (finger) is out for up to six weeks, while LaMonte Wade Jr. (knee) and Brandon Belt (knee) may not be ready to begin the season. The lefty hitting Yaz is a nice source of power later in drafts after slugging a career-high 25 homers in 2021.
