Evan White Undergoes Sports-Hernia Surgery
3 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Evan White (hernia) underwent successful surgery to fix a sports hernia on Wednesday, but his timeline for a return is unknown. White was injured last Thursday and will begin the 2022 season on the 60-day injured list most likely. The 25-year-old made his major league debut in 2020 but hasn't been very good in 306 plate appearances, slashing .165/.235/.308 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI and 27 runs scored in 84 games for Seattle. With White out for the foreseeable future, Ty France will open the year as the Mariners everyday starting first baseman.
