Nick Ahmed Shut Down For 10 Days
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed (shoulder) said he's received a pair of cortisone shots in his shoulder and will not be able to hit or throw for the next 10 days. With Opening Day eight days away, Ahmed will not be ready for the start of the regular season. With the 32-year-old sidelined with right shoulder discomfort, Geraldo Perdomo and Sergio Alcantara should split the duties at the 6 in Arizona until Ahmed is return to return. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues shouldn't be surprised if Ahmed misses most of the opening month of the season. At a premier position packed with loads of power upside, Ahmed doesn't give you much fantasy upside with 10 combined homers in the last two years and a career average of .236 in eight big-league seasons.
