Brandon Belt Could Make Spring Debut Monday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) is scheduled to debut in an exhibition game on Monday, but it's "very tentative," according to manager Gabe Kapler. Tuesday is the final exhibition game in camp. Belt has yet to play in a Cactus League game this spring due to knee inflammation, but he's been taking part in full workouts on back fields. Despite the lack of game at-bats, the Giants remain hopeful that the 33-year-old slugger will be ready for Opening Day. Belt, who is RotoBaller's No. 26-ranked fantasy first baseman, has a history of knee injuries and could receive some extra days off early in the year if he avoids starting on the injured list.
