3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan will get the Opening Day nod for the team against the Seattle Mariners at home on Thursday, April 7. The 25-year-old right-hander made only five starts in his rookie season last year, going 2-1 with a 4.05 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, a 30% strikeout rate and a 5.0% walk rate over 26 2/3 innings pitched. Ryan was previously a top-100 prospect for the Tampa Bay Rays and has late-round upside in deep mixed leagues for an improved Twins team. Before making his major league debut last September, Ryan had a 3.41 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 92 strikeouts over 66 innings pitched for the Triple-A affiliates with Tampa and Minnesota.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
