Carolina Has No Plans To Shift Christian McCaffrey's Position
3 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has been a perennial top choice in fantasy drafts for the past three seasons due to the myriad offensive skills that he possesses. But injuries have limited him to just 10 games combined over the past two years, leading to the question of whether Carolina may opt to utilize his talents in the passing game, as opposed to out of the backfield. But head coach Matt Rhule definitively shut that notion down Thursday, saying, "We can always move him around and utilize him, but at the end of the day, he's a back," per David Newton of ESPN. While it sounds as if the Panthers will operate with McCaffrey as primarily a running back, they also have Chuba Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman to provide depth. Injuries may scare some fantasy managers off, but McCaffrey remains an unquestioned first-round talent for 2022.
