Ke'Bryan Hayes Receives Long-Term Contract Offer
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (ankle) has received a long-term contract offer from the team, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Heyman noted that the Pirates are "making a serious effort" to lock up Hayes after previously trying in the past. No terms or figures have been released but locking up the 25-year-old future star to a long-term deal would be a wise move for the rebuilding Pirates. Hayes has been battling a sprained ankle over the last week but is slated to take live batting practice on Saturday and should be available for Opening Day, barring any setbacks.
