Mike Clevinger Dealing With Knee Issue
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (knee) is dealing with right knee soreness and is a candidate to open the year on the injured list. It was reported on Sunday that Clevinger was set to begin the season on the shelf after being scratched from his Cactus League outing against the Oakland Athletics. The 31-year-old right-hander is coming off Tommy John surgery that kept him out all of last season, and now he's dealing with a knee issue. It seems like the injuries never stop for Clevinger, but the good news is he's not dealing with another arm injury. He may not miss much time to open the year, and when healthy, Clevinger has the upside to be a low-end fantasy ace. The Padres landed some rotation insurance on Sunday when they traded for left-hander Sean Manaea.
