3 years agoBaltimore Orioles catching prospect Adley Rutschman (triceps) will not be ready for either the major league or Triple-A Opening Day due to a right triceps strain, according to general manager Mike Elias. The Orioles are hoping that he can get into games for some stretch of time in April. Rutschman, the top catching prospect in baseball, has been hitting off a tee from both sides of the plate and has been doing some light throwing and receiving drills, so he's at least doing well in his recovery. The 24-year-old backstop will start the year in the minors because of his injury, but he has little left to prove on the farm and should become the team's starting catcher in Baltimore before long.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
